Ed Burke is the founder and owner of Excelsior Emergency Medical Training and has been involved in public safety since 1984. Having held the positions of Firefighter and Acting Lieutenant with the Medford (MA) Auxiliary Fire Department, Dispatcher and Special Officer with the Weston (MA) Police Department, Emergency Medical Technician with LifeLine Ambulance Service of Wakefield, MA and Emergency Medical Technician, Field Training Officer, Lead Field Training Officer, Emergency Medical Communications Officer and Communications Training Officer with the City of Boston Emergency Medical Services provides him with a unique perspective on how emergency services operate.

In addition, he held the position of Adjunct Faculty at Northeastern University from 1993-2007 in the Basic Emergency Medical Technology program. He has also taught many EMT-Basic courses for some of the premier vocational schools in Massachusetts that offer Emergency Medical Technician Courses.
